Pre school sessions and Gardening stay and play
Pre-schoolers and their families can now attend weekly on Wednesday or on alternate Friday mornings from 10 a.m till 12. Sessions include crafts, mud kitchen play, pond dipping, tool work, campfire cooking and stories.
Gardening and stay and play sessions are held on alternate Friday mornings from 10-11.30 including gardening activities, play activites and a snack and drink.
Home school sessions
Home schooling families can attend on alternate Wednesday afternoons from 1-3p.m. Sessions include crafts, pond dipping, mud kitchen play, den building, tool work, fire lighting skills, campfire cooking.
School holiday sessions
We run a range of family fun sessions during the school holidays. sessions run from 10 - 12.30. Please check the calendar for sessions. We are also running several fundraising events throughout the year.
School visits
School groups can be booked, either a one off visit or a series of visits for all key stages.
We hold the sessions in Long Eaton Community Garden on Norfolk Road Recreation Ground.
We also use the park for den building, tree climbing, exploring, games and foraging.
We have use of the garden’s compost loo and access to fresh drinking water. The garden is wheelchair-friendly with well established paths and a ramp up to the compost loo.
Hot and cold drinks are available for adults and children and we cook a campfire snack each session for adults and children. For example pocket pizzas, teacakes, crumpets, apple crumble,
